It is a difficulty for Oohloh - קשיא לעולא

Summary:
According to פי' הקונטרס all that עולא said was המבדיל בין קודש לחול; however, תוספות maintains that he said all the הבדלות, but was not חותם with ברוך. The מקשן assumed that הבדלה is like קידוש, while the conclusion is that it is like ברכת הפירות.

So too does it establish for Kiddush - כך קובעת לקידוש

Summary:
Even if one was eating (or snacking untithed food) on Friday; once שבת comes, he cannot eat anything, unless he first makes קידוש, and the food is tithed.

And these words apply when they initially were eating and drinking - והני מילי דאכלו ושתו מעיקרא

Summary:
One should not eat between מנחה and מעריב, unless he began eating before מנחה, then he may continue after מנחה.
