מה לבור שכן אין כח אחר מעורב בו – Why is בור חייב, because there is no other force mixed into him!

Summary: There is an advantage in the פירכא of אין כח אחר over מעשיו גרמו for in the former we cannot say שור יוכיח; however אין כח אחר is not applicable by בור המתגלגל, for there too there is no כח אחר מעורב בו.

לאתויי בור המתגלגל – To include a rolling pit

Summary: תוספות is 'גורס 'אי בהדי דקא אזלי קמזקי היינו כחו. The מגלגל is considered a פושע, for people should be careful not to fling items when they walk. A damage that was caused jointly by a בעל התקלה and another agent depends; if the damage was caused by a בר דעה, the בעל התקלה is פטור (if the מזיק was a פושע); however if it was done by an animal or by an אדם שלא בכוונה כלל then the בעל התקלה is liable as well.
