Rather, actually; anything that was picked - אלא לעולם כל הנלקט

Summary:
ר' יוחנן maintains אין ברירה where initially there was no explicit stipulation; where he was מתנה בפירוש, there seems to be a dispute in the משניות, except for a גט where we say אין ברירה.

I would have thought the pious ones agree with Rabi Dohsoh - הוה אמינא צנועים אית להו דרבי דוסא

Summary:
ר' יוחנן is teaching that legally one can be פודה or מפקיר something which is not in his possession. אמרו דבר אחד can apply even if they argue as long as in one case they explicitly agree.

The Torah call it his tithe and he adds a fifth - קרייה רחמנא מעשרו ומוסיף חומש

The proof that it is completely ברשותו, regardless of its actual state, is from the fact that he adds a חומש (and others do not).

We derive ‘Kodesh Kodesh’ from tithing - קדש קדש יליף ממעשר

Summary:
We need הלולים to teach us חילול by נטע רבעי that it is not like שביעית, and we require the גז"ש of קודש to teach the rule of adding a חומש. Alternately without הלולים we would not know חילול on שלישי, ששי (and שביעית) when there is no מע"ש.
