Summary:
According to רש"י the משועבדים were from the father’s (יעקב) assets, while according to תוספות the משועבדים were from the grandfather’s (יצחק) assets.

This is for us and that is for them - הא לן והא להו

Summary:
According to תוספות when שמואל ruled נושא אשה ואח"כ לומד תורה he was addressing the בני א"י, and when ר"י ruled the opposite, he was talking to the בני בבל . However, רש"י maintains the exact opposite. Regarding ברכות, the ר"י maintains that we follow the custom of where we are currently.
